
If I asked you right now if your mindset is positive or negative would you know the answer?
OK, let’s back up for a minute.
There are three important elements that must be changed for a healthier life.
They are:
- ATTITUDE
- BELIEFS
- BEHAVIOR
Breaking It Down
ATTITUDE
: the attitude that you have towards your life – it’s the way that you react to situations, and to people, based on the assumptions and the beliefs that you have learned
BELIEFS
: the beliefs that you live your personal life by – your beliefs will make you react the way that you do and cause your expectations to remain within a certain way of thinking
BEHAVIOR
: the behavior that you have towards yourself and towards others – it is how you implement the attitudes that you have adopted towards situations and people
In other words, attitude is the way you react to situations, and to people, based on the beliefs you have learned, which in turn shapes your behavior.
When you positively change all three elements you open the door to a whole new world of possibilities and views.
The way to change all three elements is to change your mindset.
What is mindset?
There are a few definitions of mindset, but this one is the one that I think captures what I am saying:
**a fixed mental attitude or disposition that predetermines a person’s responses to and interpretations of situations (Dictionary.com)
And I also like this simple one, too:
**outlook towards life (Urban Dictionary)
I’m pretty sure you get the idea.
The health of our mindset is very important to our overall health, so if you change your mindset you can change your health journey.
Better health is going to depend on your ability to change and be willing to learn new ways of thinking and doing things. You need to become more open minded, look at the world from a different perspective…a different point of view.
So, I will repeat the question to you: is your mindset positive of negative?
What’s holding you back?
You need to find out what it is that is holding you back from flourishing in your personal life.
Ask yourself the following questions:
-Are you willing to make changes?
-Do you have the patience to change?
-Do you place limits on yourself?
-Do your beliefs empower, motivate, and encourage you?
-Do you surround yourself with positive or negative people?
The basics: getting out of your own way
We all have a way in which we mentally talk to ourselves, right? Think about the way you talk to yourself now. Is it mostly positive or negative?
When you say something negative it only evokes negative behavior. So why not change the self talk to positive to see better behavior? Makes sense, right?
It all comes back to that inner confidence and knowing that you can achieve your goals by making positive changes.
When you believe in yourself there are no limits and all your goals are in your reach. The way you think is all based on your attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors.
your ATTITUDE + your BELIEFS + your BEHAVIOR = your MINDSET
It’s easier said than done sometimes, but one of the most important things that you can do is believe in yourself and who you are.
When you believe in yourself you’ll see your health start to improve.
When you believe in yourself you can accomplish not only the achievements that you’ve already defined for yourself, you can achieve those as yet unrecognized goals.
