What’s the second best thing after a smoothie bowl? A yogurt bowl, of course!
I used to HATE the taste of yogurt. Now I swear I can eat a yogurt bowl for breakfast, lunch, and dinner…it’s my new obsession!
Did you know that 80% of our immune function is located in the digestive system? Thanks to the probiotics, yogurt is great for gut health and boosting immunity. And with the cold weather fast approaching who doesn’t want to build a stronger immune system?
The term “probiotic” itself is derived from the Greek, meaning “for life” and they are currently defined as “live microorganisms which, when consumed in adequate amounts, give off a health benefit to the host”.
There are between 500 and 1000 different microbials that live in the gut, some of which are healthy, while others are harmful.
Even if you are eating really healthy foods, gut imbalances can still happen. These gut imbalances can lead to weight gain and leaky gut. Leaky gut occurs when your intestinal lining has been damaged, leading to inflammation throughout the body and possibly developing additional food sensitivities.
Probiotics are also ideal for anyone who has the desire to lose weight but just can’t seem to make that happen. However, the key is to buy plain yogurt and add in your own fruit. Why? It has less sugar, which means less calories.
So what are you waiting for? Go make yourself a yogurt bowl! Feel free to make the super simple recipe below or use it for inspiration to create your own.
