Decided to get some fresh veggies to make smoothie

Decided to get some fresh veggies to make smoothies with again. Most of the time I get frozen fruits/veggies or powders to make smoothies because I can't get through the fresh stuff before it goes bad. So, picked up some red cabbage & kale...also, got some plums and pears to shake up my fruit selection.

Got a few of my favorite snacks like BBQ quinoa chips...and YES before you ask, they are so gooooood! And you can never go wrong with Nature's Path Organic. I get their "pop tarts" and waffles for a "lazy" breakfast. This flavor of waffles is a new one for me to try...

Annnddd always using yogurt & frozen bananas...I keep those stocked.

UNSWEETENED ICED BLACK & HERBAL TEA: It is way too hot in the Summer to drink hot tea, so I decided to make my black and herbal tea into iced tea...it's 4 easy steps.

》Choose whatever tea you want and make it like you would any other cup of tea, but place it in mason jars or something that can easily be covered & transported to the fridge.

》Wait for them to cool in the fridge and drink up for a refreshing, healthy alternative to just plain ol' water. It gives you another creative way to stay hydrated and cool at the same time!

》I chose not to sweeten mine, but if you choose to add sweetener I suggest either pure organic cane sugar, organic raw honey, or pure maple syrup. Enjoy!

Do you practice integrative medicine? You may actually be practicing it and don't even realize it.

I have had my share of conventional medicine and know first hand that sometimes that's what it takes. And on the other hand I love the natural remedies & therapies that are readily available. This is integrative medicine and it has been my philosophy for years. I've worked with both a conventional medicine doctor as well as a naturopath. I've taken antibiotics & blood pressure meds and then drank herbal teas, inhaled aromatherapy, taken elderberry syrup and probiotics, practiced meditation, gone to the chiropractor and a massage therapist. There is nothing wrong with relying on both. The key is knowing when to rely on one vs. the other.

The benefits of integrative medicine helps reduce your toxic load of pharmaceutical drugs (or at least helps counter the side effects), introduces more natural ways to stay healthy, and helps treat the whole body and not just the symptoms.

Do you know the difference between a PREbiotic and a PRObiotic? You may be eating them already. Basically, in the simplest terms, we all have good and bad gut bacteria. And probiotics are the good gut bacteria. In order to make the good gut bacteria grow we need to feed it. That's what PREbiotics do.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And antibiotics kill the good gut bacteria, hence the "anti" in antibiotic. Probiotics are meant to keep your gut healthy, because good health starts in the gut, however, the irony of the situation is you're prescribed antibiotics to kill whatever is making you sick...all the while killing your good gut bacteria and making the levels of bad gut bacteria higher, which negatively affects the immune system...and around and around we go. 🤦🏾‍♀️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
