10 Health Websites Everyone Should Bookmark Today

There are a variety of websites out there that could serve as good resources for healthy living. All websites have their own special area that they focus on, of course, but if you put all of the information together no doubt you will learn a lot!
I encourage you to visit as many of these resources as you can (if you haven’t already) and bookmark them to refer back to later. You may even find additional resources in the process.
I use many of these myself to write articles for this blog or for my own personal browsing pleasure, but regardless of the purpose I am very sure you won’t be disappointed in the wealth of information you find along the way.
I had so many websites to share I had to split them up into two separate posts, so today is Part 1. Enjoy! By the way, these websites are in no particular order.
1. ACE Fitness
I have been an ACE Certified Personal Trainer since 2000 so I have referred to this website many, many, many times. I use it from continuing education purposes (the PRO section) to articles to share with my readers and social media followers (the FIT section). It covers a lot of ground in fitness, nutrition, and overall healthy living for the whole family.
2. American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA)
I once belonged to this organization because I was a licensed massage therapist, but even for the general public this website can prove very useful. We all heard of the benefits of massage, right? Well, this website will provide you with the research to back it all up.
3. National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA)
The NAHA website was the basis for my post on the term therapeutic grade regarding essential oils. Their mission is simple: to advance the knowledge of the medicinal use of aromatic plants and essential oils and to support aromatherapy as a truly holistic professional art and science. If you really want to educate yourself on aromatherapy this is a great place to start. They have articles, books, essential oil safety information, as well as a list of approved schools for those interested in exploring aromatherapy a little more.
4. Environmental Working Group (EWG)
The EWG is a non-profit organization. They are on a mission to protect human health and the environment and they deal with issues pertaining from Monsanto & GMOs to cell phone use & fluorescent light bulbs. Besides being home to the Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides in Produce, they have countless more consumer guides that include helping you choose the right sunscreen and bug repellent. The EWG also is home to the Skin Deep Cosmetics Database that allows you to look up your favorite personal care products and see their toxicity rating.
A great website for healthy kids and families. This website was started by two moms that have a passion for healthy living. They offer up recipes, articles, subscription meal plans, books and more. I love their recipes and if I had the time I would pin them ALL on my Healthy Kids Pinterest board!
6. PBS Kids
We can’t forget about PBS! This website is very kid-friendly, I mean it should be…it’s PBS Kids! PBS joined forces with Whole Foods Market to give you recipes, games, and other activities that are good for the whole family and to encourage healthy eating habits.
This website was made to help create a more healthy and just planet. They have movies that include, The Story of Bottled Water, The Story of Cosmetics and The Story of Electronics, which take a deeper look at where our Stuff comes from and where it goes when we throw it away. They have several ways everyone can get involved including a book, a curriculum for teens, or hosting a movie screening.
8. Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA)
The CCFA is actually where I found my last gastroenterologist. They are a non-profit organization dedicated to finding cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. You can explore what’s going on in research involving Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis, join a local chapter for support, participate in a walk, or find resources on nutrition and living with these diseases.
9. The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics
I am a part of their business network due to the great work they do. The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is a non-profit group that stems from the Breast Cancer Fund (a non-profit organization that helps to expose & eliminate the environmental causes of breast cancer). The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics educates the public about the toxic chemicals found in cosmetics and personal care products. Because of their efforts, hundreds of cosmetic companies now fully disclose their product ingredients and avoid the use of cancer-causing chemicals. They have a lot of helpful ways to stay informed and spread the word.
10. Women’s Voices for the Earth (WVE)
WVE is a non-profit organization with a mission to eliminate the toxic chemicals that harm our health and communities. They have gone up against companies like Proctor & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, and Clorox tackling issues like feminine care products and the Brazilian Blowout. They have non-toxic DIY recipes, non toxic shopping guides, monthly tips on how to avoid toxic chemicals and so much more.
