If you ask 100 people what the term “healthy” means to them you will get 100 different answers. Healthy means many different things to many different people.
With a new year upon us, many begin a journey to a healthier lifestyle. But, finding that road to “healthy” can be frustrating sometimes because you hear so many differing variations.
When you start on a road to a healthy lifestyle it should be unique to you and only you.
I took the time out to ask some of my health blogger friends what healthy means to them and to also share their favorite guilt free indulgences.
Perhaps this may show you how everyone’s healthy idea is for them and only them. Which is how it should be. I hope this inspires you to get your own definition of healthy and be proud of it.

1. What is your definition of healthy?
Healthy is eating meals that fuel your body, the majority of the time and living an active/fit lifestyle. You don’t have to be perfect but you do have to be consistent. All things in moderation.
2. What is your favorite indulgence that you enjoy without feeling guilty?
I don’t feel guilty about anything I eat…if I want it, I eat it. The only time I feel guilty is when I emotionally eat. Otherwise, I do not believe in depriving myself.

1. What is your definition of healthy?
Healthy to me means striving for optimal balance in all areas of life…what goes into my body, how I move my body, my work, and my thoughts. A focus on mind, body, and soul that help me live my best life possible, be a role model for others, and give back to the community at large. Fitness is not only physical but involves your mental health and wellness as well. It’s important to not neglect one part of ourselves in striving to perfect another. Perfection is boring, healthy is real and attainable.
2. What is your favorite indulgence that you enjoy without feeling guilty?
My Grandma’s Homemade Peanut Butter Pie…it’s my ALL TIME FAVORITE dessert and it reminds me of childhood. I can never pass it up!

1. What is your definition of healthy?
For me being healthy is about being happy and fulfilled. Being happy contains both mental and physical aspects, mentally being stimulated, enjoying your work and loving the people around you.
Physically by feeling well, being able to do things when you want to and not being harsh on yourself when you look in a mirror. When you perfect being happy with yourself and who you are, your life can manifest such wonderful things and you can look forward to everyday and be excited about tomorrow.
2. What is your favorite food that you enjoy eating without feeling guilty?
My favourite food every week is my cheat meal on a Friday night, my partner lives away in the week and Friday is always date night, so it can be pizza, sushi, Indian, whatever it is its always my favourite meal of the week and usually always washed down with a couple of glasses of wine and the best company. I never feel guilty for it as I look after myself in the week. And we all need that naughty meal, quite often it will even be three courses.

1. What is your definition of healthy?
Being healthy is about finding a balance in life – in figuring out what works for you, what you will stick with, and what makes you happy. Just as there are no real [healthy] “quick fixes,” there also isn’t a “one size fits all” when it comes to fitness and health.
2. What is your favorite food that you enjoy eating without feeling guilty?
Sushi – especially salmon sashimi. I may or may not have consumed 100 pieces of sushi rolls/sashimi in one sitting earlier this year.

Healthy is a balance of faith, family and fitness to make a well-rounded person. Healthy people look different ways – we don’t all look like fitness models, but we can achieve health and wellness!

I enjoy all foods in healthy portions. There are no foods I don’t eat sometimes. I wrote about why that is in my post Why I Still Eat French Fries
