‘Tis the season of detoxes. But your detox or cleanse diets won’t mean anything if you don’t include additional steps that involve your surroundings.
Join me starting today for 5 days to “toss” the toxic products in your home in favor of better alternatives.
The definition of “toss” in this case is very loose. Since money is already spent on these things and it may not be so easy to just get to the store to replace right away, the thought is to toss the idea of using that product in your home because you will replace it with a better choice as soon as you can, whether that is tomorrow, next week, or next month.
So just because you can’t toss and replace today doesn’t mean you can’t still do the challenge. The plan to “toss” & replace is just as good, just make sure to follow through when you can.
Small changes make a difference over time.
Ready?
Let’s go.
DAY 1 – PLASTIC WATER BOTTLES
WHY ARE THEY TOXIC?
Most disposable water bottles are made of a plastic called polyethylene terephthalate or PET (a potential endocrine disruptor. Some water bottles are made with bisphenol A (BPA), a potential carcinogen.
Most plastic items release a tiny amount of chemicals into the beverages or food they contain.
As temperature and time increase, the chemical bonds in the plastic increasingly break down and chemicals are more likely to leach.
SOLUTION:
“Toss” your plastic water bottle & replace it with these alternatives instead:
*glass (the safest)
*stainless steel
*bamboo
See you tomorrow for Day 2!
