We are back for Week 3!!! Are you ready?
This week we are covering something that is super important and can help you have more energy and lose weight.
DON’T SKIP MEALS!
It’s common for people to think that when they skip a meal, they are ‘saving’ calories.
Remember, how in week 1 we covered why it’s so important to consume the right amount of calories your body needs? This expands on that.
Skipping meals to ‘save calories’ backfires and by mid afternoon or early evening, you’ll be starving with a capital S! Then, you’ll feel guilty because you think you have no will power. Our bodies need fuel in the form of food to function, so when it’s deprived, it screams out for what it needs – food! Willpower is no match. Skipping meals sets you up for failure and feeling guilty.
Eat 3 sensible meals a day plus healthy snacks when needed. You’ll notice you get through the day with more energy and when you plan your meals out during the day, you can make healthier choices. It’s much easier to make unhealthy choices when you need to eat something now and you just grab the closest thing you can find.
Use the estimated daily caloric needs calculator to make adjustments to your caloric intake if you need to. Remember, because it’s based on physical activity, as you exercise more your caloric needs will increase, making it even that much more important to eat right.
Do you typically skip meals most days? Notice how you feel when you eat 3 balanced meals with sensible snacks in between. Do you have more energy? Do you feel less moody?
Plan ahead and be sure not to skip meals and you’re sure to notice a difference in how you feel.
This is going to overlap into next week’s strategy, but what you can do this week is plan ahead so you have 3 meals (and healthy snacks, if needed).
