NYR Organic – NYR Organic is the US direct-selling version of Neal’s Yard Remedies in the UK. I was an independent consultant for them when I had my massage therapy practice. They design, test, and manufacture all their products at their eco-headquarters and physic gardens in Dorset, UK. Their products are certified organic, natural and wild crafted and include aromatherapy, men’s skincare, essential oils, facial, hair and body care, books, makeup, mother and baby items, herbal remedies, and supplements.
Mountain Rose Herbs – their catalog is absolutely gorgeous! Their products consist of bulk organic herbs, spices, teas and tea supplies, aromatherapy and essential oils, elixirs, tinctures, salves, body care products, storage containers and packaging, pet supplies, natural health books, educational tools, and more. They have their own line of products as well as products from other reputable companies.
Wild Carrot Herbals – all of their products are made in small batches and are very affordable. They have healing salves, baby balms, soaps, lotions, chest rubs, lip balms, massage oils, facial cleansers, complexion bars, and more. They do their best to source non-GMO and certified organic ingredients for all of their raw materials and all but one of their products are gluten free.
Dr. Bronner’s – they are a family run business and consist of an entire line of certified organic and fair trade products like soap, hand sanitizer, hair rinses and creams, lip balms, coconut oil, shaving gel, body balms, lotions, and more!
Shea Moisture – they have been eco-friendly and organic since 1912, making their beauty, hair and skin care products with certified organic and natural ingredients that are also cruelty-free and fair-trade.
Just Natural Organic Care – they started their company to initially offer naturally effective personal care products to those seeking to experience the benefits of nature. All of their products are made by hand in small batches in the USA. They also support small family farms that produce the ingredients.
Vitamin Shoppe – this is my go to place for supplements, homeopathic remedies, deodorants, superfood powders for my smoothies, you name it.
Natural Health Education
Vintage Remedies School of Natural Health – learn about herbs, botanical medicine, vaccines, aromatherapy, and more through sound scientific research. This school offers top notch distance learning education that will enable you to successfully and safely implement natural solutions in your own home.
Holistic Moms Network – I was briefly a co-leader for this wonderful organization and have met some wonderful people. This organization is a non-profit community that has nationwide chapters to connect with and learn from others who have a passion for natural & holistic living. Through monthly meetings that bring in guest speakers to their annual Natural Living Conference you will learn and become inspired to live naturally.
Healthy Baking Ingredients, Breads, Cereals & Pastas
King Arthur Flour – I mainly use their organic flours, however, their products consist of many, many more including yeast, chia seeds, oils & vinegars, grains, nuts, baking mixes, gluten free products, baking supplies, and more. They even have a baking education center where you can learn various baking techniques to improve your skills.
Food for Life – they developed yeast-free, gluten-free, vegan and diabetic-friendly products that promote wellness, happiness and assure peace of mind. They have over 60 products including pastas, breads, cereals, tortillas, and english muffins. The majority of their ingredients are certified organic and use sprouted grains and they don’t use any genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
Pamela’s Products – delicious, gluten free foods with a full line of baking mixes, cookies and snack bars. They also have statements from all suppliers that to the best of their knowledge, their ingredient is free of GMOs. In addition, they randomly perform 3rd party testing on their products to ensure they are GMO-free.
TruRoots – this company was founded on the idea that our connections to the sources of our foods are important. They carry a wide range of organic, gluten free, whole grain, and sprouted products including quinoa, mung beans, chia seeds, germinated brown rice, and ancient grains pasta.
Nature’s Path – their product line includes cold & hot cereals, granola, bars, pancake mixes, waffles, breads, and more. All of their products are certified organic, non-GMO verified, and vegetarian friendly. They also carry gluten-free products.
One Degree Organic Foods – they use only organic foods grown using natural veganic methods. Their ingredients are sprouted, organic, veganic and non-GMO. Their products include cereals like spelt flakes & brown rice crisps, flours, seeds, and breads. They even have a mobile app where you scan the product QR code and see what farm your ingredients came from!
Love Grown Foods – their mission is to create incredibly delicious foods that is full of nutritional benefits and that is available to everyone, while educating kids, parents, and teachers on the importance of eating healthy. Their products are made with love, beans & brown rice, are free from GMOs, and include corn free and wheat free cereals, and gluten free oats & granola.
Organic and Whole Food Supplements
MegaFood – they have a long list of certifications including gluten-free, soy-free, vegan, herbicide and pesticide-free, vegetarian, farm fresh, and non-GMO. They even consult experts in the nutrition and medicine field like Dr. Andrew Weil to ensure their products remain of a high quality.
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Education
Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) – Since I have Crohn’s I look to this website for a lot of resources (this is where I found my gastroenterologist). I also get sent a survey every 6 months to answer their questions to help with research. They are a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding the cures for Crohn’s Disease and ulcerative colitis.
They have camps for kids, an online support group, walks & marathons for IBD awareness, educational workshops and programs, a scientific journal, and more.
