Ate too much for Halloween AND Thanksgiving? Now, that two major eating holidays are out of the way we get to work it off in time to kick off a healthy New Year.
This fitness challenge will focus on balance through the holiday season as well as trying not to gain the 20 pounds you vow to lose at the beginning of the new year.
We’ll call this challenge the December Holiday Fitness Challenge because this will go on through the December holiday season, similar to how the 12 Days of Fitness works.
This challenge is for beginners as well as advanced fitness levels. You can choose to do this challenge on its own or in conjunction with your regular exercise routine. If doing just one exercise, you can choose to do the same exercise every day or a different exercise. The possibilities are endless, just have fun with it!
Before you exercise please do a 5-10 minute warm up first. This will help prevent any injury. Make sure at least 24 hours have passed before doing the next day’s exercises if you are working the same muscle areas to allow for proper rest (for example, don’t do 25 squats at night one day then 25 squats again in the morning). Working out the same time of day each day will work well to ensure enough rest if working the same muscle groups. Always end with at least a 5 minute cool down and/or 5 minutes of stretching. As always please consult your physician before beginning any exercise and/or nutrition program, as well as questions about any medical condition.
